De Hoop
This abandoned paper factory has been transformed into a vibrant community of two hundred creative entrepreneurs.
The architecture employs a variety of strategies for community building. I desigend a building method, a spatial plan and a process. The facade openings are left to the tenants. This allows them to show themselves and their identity. At the same time the act of building connects them to the place and the community.
Thanks to the tenants, and their unstoppable will to create, De Hoop is now an inspiring community full of surprise and creativity.
