De Waard
A Waard is a low-lying, flat piece of land along a river, often surrounded by dikes. These areas were formed by the deposition of river clay and sand (alluvium) and were originally subject to flooding. They were often used for grazing or agriculture because of the fertile soil. Unlike river forelands (uiterwaarden), which lie outside the dikes and can flood during high water, waarden are usually protected by dikes against flooding.
Inside this building, which I named De Waard, energy created by solar panels is converted into a spectacle. A Waard is also a person who ran an inn or tavern, offering food, drink, and lodging to travelers. The building acts as a host, and an invitation for people to come and learn about soil subsidence and energy creation.
